Right, so the writing hasn't been happening except in small spurts, and hasn't been very good anyway, including the Continuing Series of Facebook Status Update Haiku, so you won't mind that I'm about to post a (gasp) knitting pattern.
Yes, that's right: Primarily Decorative is commandeering her own blog for the nefarious purpose of spreading some useful instructions onto the World Wide Web.
Hidden Purls Knit Cloth
by Cybele Pomeroy
This is a completely reversible garter stitch cloth with a purl border and some interesting details. I created it as a piece on which to practice purling.
Materials:
Knitting needles US size 5, 6, or 7
1 skein worsted or sport weight cotton yarn
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Directions:
Cast on 30 stitches
Row 1:
Purl 6
*Knit 5, Purl 1* to last 6 stitches
Knit 1, Purl 5
Repeat Row 1 for pattern until cloth is square.
Weave in ends to finish.
You may notice that the 'border' is indistinguishable from the body of the cloth. That is why the cloth is known as Hidden Purls.
